Lister Fertility Clinic’s new dietetic service
Apr 11 • 2018

It has long been proven that making the right nutritional choices can optimise your fertility. That is why Lister Fertility Clinic are proud to have established a brand new unique dietetic clinic for those looking for clear dietetic and nutritional advice when trying to conceive.

There is a vast array of conflicting information regarding fertility and diet available out there to anyone with access to a search engine. Lister Fertility Clinic will now be offering both group and individual consultations with our fully qualified dietitian, the only diet and nutrition experts to be regulated by the Health and Care Professional Council. Sessions will cover weight management, food and fertility, supplements, as well as looking at the long term benefits of getting it right during pregnancy and optimising health for men.

By following a personalised plan and setting clear targets, our dietitian can help optimise the chances of conception, improve chances of success with assisted reproductive treatments and set goals for a healthy pregnancy and beyond.

Komal Kumar heads up the service, a qualified and HCPC Registered Dietitian, she is a Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and BDA’s Diabetes Specialist Group. Having completed specialised training in Fertility and Pregnancy from Monash University, Australia, we are thrilled to have her on board to assist our patients.

Speaking about the new clinic, Komal said:

“No doubt, nutrition helps you optimise your chances for conception and a successful pregnancy, but it is the first aspect that goes out of the window when you are stressed or have a lot going on. The group sessions we are offering here at the Lister give you the peer support and happy environment to make sustainable changes for your fertility journey. Plus it is easy on the pocket, being almost 1/3 of the cost of any equivalent consult.

“We are here to help you take advantage of what I call “the 1000 days window”. What you eat prior to conception till the child’s second birthday decides on their genetic makeup, preventing many chronic conditions through the child’s lifespan.

“Both individuals in the couple will receive a personalised plan and get a personal dietitian approach through our app and email support. After all, it does take two to tango!”

To find out more about our brand new service, come along to our open day at the clinic on Saturday 12th May 12.30-1.30pm. Book your place by emailing, or call 0207 730 7733 x 52043 and leave a message.
