Fiona’s story
Fiona is a Paralympics silver medallist and has completed the London Marathon. She is paraplegic and uses a wheelchair. Fiona has always wanted to have a baby, but when she approached her local hospital, she was told that her hormone levels were too low, and that she wouldn’t respond to any fertility treatment and that “no doctor would treat her”. After researching online, Fiona found some women with the same hormone levels who had been successful in conceiving babies at The Lister Fertility Clinic. “From being told I could never get pregnant to getting pregnant on the first [IVF] cycle, with only one embryo put back in – she’s a miracle baby. Without The Lister she wouldn’t be here; they were the people who gave me the support right the way through my journey,” says Fiona.
