“I really can’t thank The Lister Fertility Clinic team enough”
“In March 2014 our baby daughter was born. I always knew that I was in good hands at The Lister Fertility Clinic and was not prepared to give up without our baby.
Our journey began in 2012 when my husband and I discovered we would require IVF to conceive. Naturally devastated and nervous about the unknown, we didn’t know anyone who had been through IVF before so it was an incredibly scary prospect having to research clinics and not know whether we would ever have a child.
We met with James Nicopoullos and instantly felt positive about our chances of success. He also reassured us that the Lister would accommodate our treatment to suit our busy work schedules. The process of investigating fertility clinics in London began in earnest, and The Lister Fertility Clinic not only has a good reputation, but also great success rates. From the very first meeting with James Nicopoullos, we really felt like we were with experts in the field. We felt incredibly confident and the staff were supportive and positive about our odds right from the outset. In the space of seven months in 2013, I underwent one fresh cycle of IVF which resulted in pregnancy but unfortunately I miscarried.
This was followed by two FET (Frozen Embryo Transfers). It was intense, but the support that I was given from the clinic, sonographers and nurses was incredible; they always made me feel at ease. Thankfully, I fell pregnant on my second FET.
I never felt at the point of giving up – the fact that I had fallen pregnant on my first cycle was a very positive sign that it would happen for us eventually, and James kept reminding us of that. I really can’t thank the team enough – there were times when it was really difficult and I would turn up to the clinic for blood tests or scans, and just burst into tears. The nurses were amazing and understood that the journey was hard; so it meant so much for them to truly care.”
