I won free IVF!
"How can I put into words how grateful we are to The Lister Fertility Clinic"
“My husband Steve and I went to The Lister Fertility Clinic having had four failed cycles of IVF elsewhere; we had met some of the team at the Fertility Show in London and entered the Infertility Network prize draw for a Lister Fertility Clinic birthday cycle – and somewhat miraculously we won. We compared winning the cycle with winning the lottery, we were so excited! Having had one cycle funded by the NHS, the following three were self-funded, as were all the other investigative tests, so financially it was a bit of a strain. My consultant James Nicopoullos was very thorough and very positive.
After reading my notes he offered additional tests and decided on a new treatment plan which would be monitored very closely. I felt so much more comfortable knowing that we had adopted a different approach. After my egg collection, we came away with the thought that if the cycle didn’t work we would save and definitely return to the Lister because of how we were treated. I can honestly say that the patient care is second to none. Needless to say we couldn’t believe our luck in gaining another chance and cannot put into words our feelings as we learnt that I was pregnant. We found the whole experience at The Lister Fertility Clinic enjoyable which is a big plus given how stressful the whole IVF process is. The staff made us feel so welcome, calm and relaxed it became a pleasant experience.
That they spoke to us on a personal level and not just as a doctor and a nurse to the patient added positively to the experience. The staff made us feel so welcome, calm and relaxed it became a pleasant experience. After a grand total of five cycles of IVF, I gave birth to our healthy baby boy, Tristan, in October 2013. We have photos of the staff and – when he is old enough – plan to tell him that they helped make him and they are his special family. We owe them Tristan’s life; they really are amazing. Thank you so much. How can I or anyone else put into words how truly grateful we are, not just because of the success we have achieved but also down to the actual care I received”.
