Trying for two years
"Going through IVF is a difficult process and because of the Lister and its wonderful staff, the journey became a lot easier"
My husband and I were trying for two years to have a baby and decided that we needed to go down the route of IVF. We had heard a lot about different clinics and decided to have the treatment with Lister Fertility Clinic because I had always had good experiences with the doctors at the hospital. I’d also heard that they don’t push tests on you just for the sake of testing. All tests are taken only if necessary and nothing is “pushed on you”.
We had a truly exceptional experience from the caring nurses and sonographers, to the ladies on the front desk. But what really was exceptional for us was Marie Wren, who was the consultant looking after us. Marie is incredibly caring, devoted to her patients and unbelievably strong in her field. Our first attempt didn’t work and we could have easily given up, but knew that we were in really good hands with Marie and decided to give it another go. After two tries I fell pregnant at the age of 42, and now have a beautiful baby girl. I am forever indebted to Marie for all of her care.
I’d also like to add that on the day of egg retrieval the hospital really took good care of me and my husband who was waiting in the room for me. At one point I needed counselling after the first attempt failed, and the counsellors were very caring.
Going through IVF is a difficult process and because of the Lister and its wonderful staff, the journey became a lot easier and ultimately successful.
